Limbaugh 'Just Acting" Instead of Taking Medication say Experts

A leading health journal revealed today that popular radio commentator Rush Limbaugh has been "only acting" when it comes to taking his prescribed antipsychotic medication. The New York Journal of Psychotic Disorders also debunked Limbaugh's claims that he is quite normal and that former actor Michael J. Fox represents a sinister force of evil.

"It's quite clear to me that Rush has not been taking his prescribed medication," mental health professional Dr Daryl Worthy of Harvard Medical School informs Brainsnap. "People on drugs like perphenazine are calmer and, according to all known clinical trials, experience fewer symptoms of paranoia and grandiosity."

According to researchers, people with Rush Limbaugh's condition often lash out at ghosts or saboteurs, tend to believe in world-wide conspiracies, and usually entertain grandiose fantasies which exaggerate their own importance.


Symptoms frequently include a predilection for blaming jews, gypsies or homosexuals - or even aliens or witches - for what they perceive to be a deliberate corrosion of society. Sufferers often see themselves as leaders of a crusade to save the world from a secret conspiracy or plot. In Limbaugh's case, his problem has less to do with extraterrestrials or witches than it does with liberals - an imaginarily 'homogeneous' group which he blames for a number of bizarre reasons.

"Fortunately, we know a lot more about this mental illness than we used to," Dr Worthy explains. "For many years, these problems simply went undiagnosed, but today people like Mr Limbaugh can get treatment. Chlorpromazine and Thiothixene, for instance, have a proven track record for helping psychotics suppress apocalyptic delusions or paranoid episodes."

According to researchers, Limbaugh's longterm addiction to prescription drugs is commonly associated with psychotic disorders. Most notoriously, the former leader of the German Luftwaffe Herman Goerring exacerbated his psychotic disorder with substance abuse.

"All evidence suggests that Limbaugh simply doesn't realize that he has a problem. He lives in a world in which imaginary plots and threats lurk around every corner, and malingering actors invent symptoms of Parkinson disease for sinister, subversive purposes.

"The poor, poor man," he added.

In the meantime, friends of Mr Limbaugh claim that the commentator has taken to hiding under furniture until calls for him to resume taking his antipsychotic medication die down. He claims that he no longer needs his pills and advises that liberals steal them from him anyway.
