Hello DU:
I would like to find a chart on the value of the dollar over the past 10 years. I remember seeing it plummet to around 64 during the beginning of the financial crisis and today it is around 76, yes? Does this mean it is worth more today than a few years ago or ???? Any help appreciated.
edit to add:
O and can anyone point me to a chart. Google not helping so far....

http://www.fxstreet.com/rates-charts/usdollar-index/click on "time scale & period" at the top of the chart and you can view 30 years.

4. And isn't that as against the Euro, which has also lost value? |

I found this article discussing the topic interesting: < http://www.marketwatch.com/story/measuring-value-of-the-dollar-depends-on-view-2010-03-10> The general trend would appear to be bad. This one only goes to 2008, but if you want a different way to look at it, check out this table: < http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0001519.html>
