4. Yes, so horrible how we respect individual rights and the rule of law. |
|
City mayors deserve to be dictators who can ban anything they like, even when it directly contradicts state law. :eyes:

6. Do you really think the judge should overturn state law? |
|
For a city, that knowingly enacted a law in defiance of state law? http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.290There's some idiocy involved here, all right. Wasn't the judge.

9. Wait a minute ... State has a law that says municipalities cannot make laws on X more strict |
|
than state law. Municipality makes a law that is more strict than state law about X. Municipal action is ruled in violation of state law. And your complaint is what exactly?
Insert for X another activity to see the problem, for example, abortion. If there was a Washington state law that said municipalities cannot male more restrictive laws on abortion than state laws would it be OK if Seattle made a law banning abortions within 1000 feet of a school (assuming that state law has no such restriction)? If not, why would it be different for another X, like firearms?

5. The city again wastes my tax money. |
|
Again the city is correctly slapped down for violating state law. It would be so nice if the mayor and the city attorneys would learn to read and learn from their past mistakes.

8. It all starts to get fuzzy. |

Round 1 started under Nickles. I want to place Round 2 with McGinn. I freely admit I may not be remembering this correctly....
