I'm fine with Hillary as SOS, but one concern I have is...
that the names floated about are too familiar. Clinton, Richardson, Biden, Paneta, Rahm, Kerry, etc...I genuinely think that some measure of fresh blood needs to be brought in or else it looks to much like replacing one establishment with the other...

I disliked the establishment as much as any, but am not convinced the current leadership was revolutionary. Obama can represent real change better if he does not recycle too many names.

4. SoS has to be an experienced ass kicker.
After Rahm, she's the next on the list. Also she's know and liked around the world.

DU bears no resemblance to the USA, much less the world.

6. If a neocon or conservative Dem was appointed that would be establishment pick, but,
a progressive with foreign policy chops would NOT be establishment, at all.

BTW....establishment Dem powerstructure HATES Kerry - you do know that they sided with Reagan and Bush on his IranContra policy and were angry that Kerry kept investigating it and uncovered the corruption. They were FURTHER pissed at him for BCCI which led to the closing of the biggest international bank that just happened to be the world's biggest moneylaunderer for drugs, arms, and global terror networks who were funded by those operations.

ALOT of powerful financiers lost millions and billions when Kerry got BCCI closed down.

One of the biggest misconceptions about Kerry is that he is an establishment figure. Just because someone has been around a long time doesn't mean he's part of establishment - in fact, Kerry was ostracized by most of DC including his own party during BCCI investigations which he led for 5 1/2 years.

8. The more I think about it...

the more I believe that Hillary Clinton would be perfect for SoS. Granted, President Obama will call the shots, but the plus side is, he is a man who will take her opinions into consideration when he makes his final decisions. I understand people's qualms about the Clintons bringing 'drama', but the truth is, the Clintons only need to be out there, doing nothing. The press is overly infatuated, no, OBSESSED with them--as they have been for years, and it is the MSM bringing all the drama.

Five Reasons Hillary Clinton Should Not Be Secretary of State

By Ken Silverstein
It looks like Barack Obama has offered Hillary Clinton the post of Secretary of State and she’s mulling over whether to take the job or not. Obama’s apparent offer makes him look magnanimous and delights Hillary Clinton’s former backers, so maybe it’s smart politics. But there are a number of good reasons why Clinton should not be secretary of state. Here are five:

1. Hillary Clinton will have her own agenda (as will her husband). She’s not a team player and will bring in a crew of cronies whose chief aim will be to promote the boss, not the administration. Obama may wake up one day and discover that Hillary has decreed a new “Clinton Doctrine” of foreign policy.

2. It would be impossible, politically, to fire Hillary. No matter what she says or does, or how insubordinate, Obama will be stuck with her as long as she wants to stay.

3. Her husband is a walking conflict of interest. Bill helps a Canadian businessman land a uranium contract in Kazakhstan, and soon afterwards the businessman contributes to the Clinton Foundation. Bill’s personal and business dealings are embarrassing enough without Hillary heading the State Department.

4. The Clinton style of management–for example, pitting one faction of staff against another–would be a disaster at the State Department. Just look at how well it worked on the campaign trail.

5. And the strongest strike of all against Hillary as secretary of state… look at who endorses her.
