1. Ah, I remember it well.
I'm so glad we're not feeling the stress we felt a year ago!

Jackeens, who is the boy in #7? Does Bruce have a son?

3. It's good to be reminded
how far we've come since a year ago! We were so fortunate and look at all the pics we've seen of this progress since then!

Thanks Jackeens:toast:

23. Great Video.. I remember watching it on TV..and being so overwhelmed..
and noticing the incredible variety of faces...old, young, men, women, white, black, yellow, brown...It was such a sense of hopefulness and excitement for a new beginning.

5. ::Sigh:: I was in Cleveland that day and brought my daughter and best friend with me...

We stood in line for 6 hours and saw our future President speak... It was one of the proudest days of my life!

My father, a diehard Republican said to me later that night..."I may not agree with Obama, but I am proud of you for being strong in your convictions...and for showing my grandchild that she has a voice..."

Awesome awesome day... Thanks Jackeens!

edited for me trying to figure out how to post pics... ;)

How utterly beautiful is that?

To you and your Dad: :toast:

21. I stopped at the local Obama HQ's to pick up my assignment that morning.
I was almost in tears when a father and son(6 yrs. old maybe) came in to see what they could do to help.

The father wanted his son to see what democracy felt like and what one man (or child) could do to change the world. I'm glad that I had to leave or I would have got too emotional.

I hope that this doesn't sound racist, but I think that what really got to me was that they were AA and you could just sense the pride in the father that this day and this election were actually going to change the country in a positive manner.

I probably didn't word that very well but hopefully everyone understands what I WAS trying to say.

6. Thanks for these Jackeens! I was talking to my mother in law
earlier today and she was reminiscing. Her b'day is the 4th, and last year she worked the polls all day. She said today that it was the best b'day she'd ever had!

11. I so wanted to go to that event...
...and then I thought, "eh, the two-hour drive, the crowds, the traffic, the hassle of finding parking," etc. etc., and ended up staying home. :( I did assume Obama would be back through Ohio in 2012 during his re-election campaign, so I knew I'd have a second chance. :)

Thanks for the pics!

15. I did too, and didn't go for exactly those reasons...
...I just couldn't see myself standing for hours and hours, and dealing with the crowds, even though I knew I'd love it anyway. And I only had a 15 minute drive. Damn!
