MSNBC idiots trashing Pelosi's saying the Dems won by winning two House seats.
You bet Nancy Pelosi won Tuesday night. She has two more vote to pass her health care bill on Saturday.

These loathsome people, including Katty Kay, have to spin themselves into knots to ignore the fact that the 'out' party has won in Virginia and New Jersey for decades. Now, if the Democrats had won, that would have been a story--no doubt, one they would have spun in a way that it wasn't a big deal (the Dems were just channeling Barack Obama, etc., ad nauseum).

Actually the Virginia gubernatorial candidate made himself into the pragmatic candidate, playing down his conservative credentials, and talking about 'jobs, jobs, jobs.'

2. I saw that just before I popped over to CSPAN...
Apples/Oranges...Fed/State

Then there's #'s involved, how many voters showed up vs how many are registered; which party showed up in greater strength; other issue on the ballots that might have encouraged voter turnout/holdout.

It comes down to, 2 House seats beats 2 Governors...especially if the governor of the state is challenged by either House/Senate in said state.

5. MSNBC was like Fox
I watched MSNBC almost all day yesterday and was sick. Before Tuesday all they talked of was NY-23 and how important the teabaggers were, how the conservative would win, etc. Yesterday? Barely mentioned it. The only thing important was VA and NJ and how the Repugs won and how it hurt Obama. Not a word that the 2 gov. winners did NOT campaign as teabag conservatives and tried to avoid showing how conservative they really are. Nor did they want Palin there campaigning.

Listening to MSNBC you would have thought Palin had been a winner when in fact she was the big loser in NY-23. And MSNBC is liberal?

8. MSNBC is only mentioning NY-23 as a LOSS for conservatives, not a win for Dems.
And they completely cut off any videotape of Nancy Pelosi mentioning CA-10 -- that doesn't fit in their spin today. They all sound desperate for a clue.

17. There is no truly "liberal" news network.
MSNBC has a few hours of left-leaning opinion shows in the evening and that's it!

14. Please explain to me
that if governor seats are more important than those in the House and Senate, why do the republicans waste money and time, campaigning for them. Why don't they just run around the country so they can win the governorships and be happy..

By the way the Washington Post says McDonnell who won Virginia is the NEW STAR....gee I googled and did not find one headline when any democrat won a governor's seat. So if a democrat wins, it is just a win, but if a republican wins it is a wonderful thing, he is a star, blah blah blah. Isn't it ridiculous. Yeah the guy won and congratulations but they act like he is a god or something.

15. Mika is the dictionary picture of "elitist." So politically correct, and such an intellectual whore.
I think I can at least understand that Scarbo is a Southern Republican politician. Mika has no excuse for dancing into the darkness of twisted propaganda, and fawning over every fascist that walks in the door and sits down at the desk with a Starbuck's latte and a well-defined corporate agenda.

People like Scarbo aren't a threat. The "look at meeeeee-ka" types are treacherous.

Neither ever mentioned they were Republican and both basically ran as RINOs to win.

18. Yep
and folks on MSNBC keep harping on moderates went for the Republicans in VA and NJ without mentioning young and minority voters largely stayed at home. So those "moderates" were mostly white and in addition many of them were of the older crowd too. So I'm supposed to be surprised old white folks went Republican, particularly in VA?

As another said the Regent educated conservative in VA did not play that up in his campaign. His message was middle of the road and focused on economic issues.
