Air America Radio (AAR) coming to Denver: anyone have details?
Randi Rhodes announced it without details on her show yesterday. So far I've seen speculation on this website, but no one seems to know the details. I hope it is soon, complete coverage, and with good signal strength so that as many markets as possible can hear.

1. Oh Happy Days...Oh Happy Days
Looks like it could be a Clear Channel station or a Jefferson Pilot station! I'll call some people I still know in radio and report back soon....

There's also the possibility it could be the AM station that went silent 2 weeks ago. Rumors are that Kronke (owns Nuggets & Avalanche) is buying however.

Yeah....

5. Thanks otohara!
I just got to the Colorado forum and saw this thread. How exciting! I thought for sure we might have a chance at the station Enid was on. Maybe a Clear Channel will have a better signal in the evening hours.

I am so thrilled! I'm such a radio nut and often don't get out to do errands until Franken's program is over. I was in NYC this Spring and it was such a gas listening to AAR on the car radio. So, this is a "pinch me I'm dreaming" kind of day!!! Bet we're all jumping for joy!

6. Btw, if it's a Clear Channel
I wonder if the programming will be AAR off and on. Isn't Clear Channel the one that chops up Randi's broadcast and cuts off Malloy? Or maybe that's XM's satellite service.

But no matter what, it will be great to get any part of AAR on the radio. Then I can take them out to garden, do crafts or cook. I never did get around to putting computer speakers all over the house or rig up another solution.

7. Randi again mentioned but apparently details aren't available
or ready for announcement, anyway.

Damn, with Colorado polls showing a 50/50 split we need AAR as soon as humanly possible!

I hope Otohara is able to find out more from her phone calls.

"CLEAR CHANNEL's next liberal talk convert may be in DENVER, where Sports KKZN-A (THE ZONE) has dropped the sports talk and gone into a loop of President BUSH "bloopers." Look for the new format to debut MONDAY (8/30) at 7a MT. Meanwhile, THE ZONE's prize property, the syndicated JIM ROME show, will return to crosstown Sports KKFN-A (SPORTS RADIO 950 THE FAN) for 10a-1p as of MONDAY."

12. I've been dropping in at the station on my little radio
And it's just so great. They're playing all sorts of clips from shrub and Cheney speeches. The bloopers. So it's like a confirmation teaser.

As some of you know, I like to listen to talk radio and do listen to Boyles out of desperation. I wake up early but stay in bed listening to the radio with a pillow speaker. It's been a bummer for too long that we don't have any left radio locally. Even KNRC was more right than left or Dem.

Time for a celebration!

14. 760 AM
They also changed the call sign as out of Boulder. I haven't heard anything about there any station moved here.

Yeah Clearchannel... Well either this disproves the hoary trope that Liberal radio doesn't sell or Clearchannel is trying to hedge its bet in the new election.

15. I'm not happy with Schultz in the lineup
I already posted in a GD thread. Inserting him in the lineup pushes everyone else to a later time slot. Guess I'll email Clear Channel and at least voice my thoughts. I'm not an Ed fan at all. And I won't listen to Randi and Mike Malloy at the later hours. Streaming will work fine for me. At least I'll get Franken on the car radio or walkman and will be more encouraged to get my errands or excercise done earlier in the day.
