With all the evidence showing that New London sub base should be saved
Do you think the Brac will remove it. So far, its been shown that to close New London sub base it would be more expensive than keeping it open. Add to this the construction to upgrade the Norfolk piers and Georgia.

More worrisome is that Norfolk is getting too many ships in port, and since I still live here (norfolk/VaBch) this place is set up for a "pearl Harbor." Hell, with the bridge tunnels, sink one boat in the channel over the tunnel, and its over. I have heard already that the Aircraft carriers have to leave port during high tide to clear one bridge-tunnel.

Add to that the bad math that everyone has been pointing out on the score list and you can't but say it will be removed lest the real political motivations show up.

what do y'all think?

1. I think similar happened in the early 90s
the sub base was saved in the appeals process. So, it wouldn't surprise me, but I do think the state should plan long-term for that area and see how else to develop it.
