I'm working on half a dozen or so statehouse candidacies, a county commission race and on our Secretary of State candidate Robert Beattie's cmpaign (he wrote the book Nightmare in Wichita, about the search for the BTK serial killer).

The guy I am working for told me yesterday that there are 25 state House seats in Jo CO and we have Dems running in 17 of them. He said that is unheard of in this county.
GO DEMS!!

3. All But One District Has a Democrat Running in Wichita |
|
That is very good news from Johnson County. In Sedgwick County, every legislative district except one (21 out of 22 I believe)has either an incumbent democrat, or a democrat challenging the Republican incumbent. Moreover, three of our incumbent Democrat House members have no challenger at all, and another only has a primary. We also have Democrats challenging all three Republican incumbent county commissioners. This slate I believe reflects a rebirth of the Democratic Party here, and new momentum for the candidates across the board

22 House seats in Johnson County, and we have candidates in 20 of them. The most ever.
I'll be helping out two candidates myself: Gene Rardin who's running in the 16th (my district) and Amy Kamm in the 30th.
Bill Roy, our esteemed County Chair, thinks it's not impossible to win 11 of them. I think he's looking at ones that Dennis Moore carried two years ago.
Interestingly enough, the Libertarians fielded quite a few candidates. Must be something going on with that party that's not being talked about much.
