........I just watched the GOP primary candidate debate and from my first impression Clooney will dominate the "likability factor" when debates become crucial in front of the media....One of the candidates is already reeling from campaign money laundering accusations....I personaly cannot describe much of the history of the GOP candidates however I'm certain that this board will provide much of the neccesary imformation once the candidate is chosen...best wishes

And went to Northern Kentucky University (started a year after George dropped out, and dropped out a couple of years later, myself). I can say that most people in that area respect Nick, whether they agree with him politically or not. He has 'Q factor' (face time and recognition) out the you-know-what, since he was a newscaster for at least fifteen years in Cinci and went on to do MC work for American Movie Classics; not only that, but he's had a column in the Cinci Post forever.
My mother, who's always been a big fan of his, says the newspapers seem optimistic about his chances. That may not sound like much, if you're not familiar with the newspapers in Cincinnati, but you have to consider that the Cincinnati Enquirer calls anybody to the left of Newt Gingrich a Commie, and the Post is a sort of wishy-washy, middle-of-the-road apologist for neocons much of the time.
If Nick was doing badly, they'd be popping champagne and spraying it all over each other at editorial meetings at the Enquirer. Apparently, they're not.
For my own part, I've wondered why Nick didn't do this long ago. His name is going to be damned hard to stain, and that's saying something for a Dem in that part of Ohio/Kentucky.

3. i live in the district |
|
and i think his chances are excellent. people love the clooneys around here!
i tend to contest that we are a repub district. we've had a demo in the seat for a while now and he decided not to run for re-election.
id say he'll be running a very moderate middle of the road campaign. thats how you win in KY. having an idiot rethug governor helps too ;)
