MSNBC doesn't have the correct numbers for Maine's caucus
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21660914

Scroll down to Maine. The numbers listed, I believe, are the number of delegates each candidate was awarded. These delegates will vote at the state convention later next month. Didn't we have something like 45,000 vote at the Feb. caucus?

Over at Cnn, they clarify these numbers. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#ME

It's probably nothing, but I just thought I should point this out cause it makes Maine look like we didn't turn out in force. Speaking of which, does anyone have the final popular vote tally for our February caucus?

2. There is no popular vote tally
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 06:22 PM by MaineDem
It doesn't exist. The only thing recorded were the number of delegates awarded. (State convention delegates.) This is true for most, if not all, caucus states. Which makes any sort of popular vote count impossible.

And you're right, there were about 45,000 total caucus attendees.

3. Thanks Maine Dem
I knew I wasn't crazy. What I have a problem with is the way it is portrayed on MSNBC and Fox like these were actual popular votes. Thanks for you input!
