Democrats given up on District 9 to Sue Myrick?

Have we just accepted that Sue Myrick will be representing the 9th District until she decides to retire? I am listening to PBS on the way into work and it was stated that no funding assistance is being given to Harry Taylor. In an election cycle that pointing out the voting record of Republicans that have rubber stamped the Bush administration, we cant promote a candidate that actually confronted Bush to his face?

1. Sounds like Harry is the Larry of '08, (Larry Kissell in the 8th district)

I don't know what to say except to get his strongest supporters mailing/e-mailing and calling the groups with money and then work their hearts out on the phones and walking precincts to talk about him. My husband just asked me yesterday if he was getting any support because Sue Myrick's signs - correction; billboards - are everywhere in Charlotte.

I see plenty of Harry's signs in PlazaMidwood-Elizabeth-Dilworth area.

Shame on Dem congressional committee who won't support him. When the national organizations show little to no support they make the road a lot tougher for any Dem candidate to win the close elections.

5. It will take funding to oust Myrick

Her BIG RED billboards are everywhere along the highway and you're lucky if you happen across a Harry Taylor Yard Sign every now and then.

You may remember Harry from his encounter with George Bush in April, 2006, at a Town Hall meeting in Charlotte, NC. Harry made worldwide news when, standing in a balcony seat and looking down at Bush on stage, he said:

”’I feel like despite your rhetoric, that compassion and common sense have been left far behind during your administration,’

‘And I would hope from time to time that you have the humility and grace to be ashamed of yourself.’”


You may also recall that Harry was booed by the mostly conservative audience as he spoke for so many of us to voice our frustration with the Bush administration and its policies. That encounter had a profound effect on Harry:
