Does NC issue a voter registration card
Edited on Mon Oct-20-08 03:58 PM by madmax
or I.D.? I moved here last year and got my NC drivers license and registered to vote. It's been a mess with the move. Lost SS card, had to get a new one, and general confusion and stuff associated with moving out of state. Anyway, I can't remember if I received an ID in the mail or not. I'm burnt out for many reasons :silly:

1. You should have received a card in the mail. But you don't need it
once you are registered, chances are you'll never need it to vote. (I have one, but have never showed it to anyone - when voting.) I have however shown my driver's license as ID.

in the mail but, I can't find it now. I have my NC drivers license and a few utility bills I could use if I need more proof. I'm going to look again. I'm proud to be a Democrat in NC so I'd just like to have it ;)

Thanks

7. if you vote early, any registration problems can be cleared up
as long as you bring some id.

5. Those are issued by the county
but you should never be asked to see ID anyway.

6. please check online to make sure and also be warned:
Just because you went to the DMV and also registered to vote does NOT mean that you
are registered to vote.

Yes, NC sends you a registration card. Getting this card does mean that they processed
your registration.

Only if you register through the mail are you normally expected to show id.

BUT, for new registrants whose SS# or DL # don't provide an exact match, you may be required to
provide ID in order to vote a regular ballot.

Please see www.ncvoter.net to find the links and info you need.

You can see the link to use to check your registration record, find out where to vote and
get a sample ballot.
