How popular is Brunner in Ohio? |
|
A freeper on another board made this comment about her.
Even democrats hate her. That's why she won't do press conferences anymore. The press asks tough questions she can't answer.
Ok I know he's full of crap but since I don't live in Ohio I still thought it best to ask people in Ohio what they thought especially Ohio Democrats.
I have seen her on the news and she seemed pretty level headed to me. But what do you guys think of her?

1. she has a good heart, but she has made some big mistakes. |
|
She is now a target of Ohio GOP wrath.

11. Truthfully, she ought to be the least of their worries. |
|
Between its' own overflowing corruption and what may prove to be a mortally wounded brand thanks to Bush, Cheney and McCain, the Republican Party will be in a battle for its' own survival in 2010 on both state and federal levels.

2. She was on Rachel Maddow's show last Friday. So much for |
|
"tough questions she can't answer."
I've been a poll worker since the Diebold mess of 2004 and this is the FIRST time all poll workers are REQUIRED to attend training. The women who sat behind me were complaining about "it's always the same; why do we have to have training this year?" By the time the session was completed they were complaining about "there's so much new stuff this year; why do we have to have all these new things?" They were, of course, Repubs.
I admire her for requiring poll-worker training and for appealing the partisan court's ruling to the SCOTUS.

3. Maybe they were hard of hearing, so it was a waste of time anyway. |
|
I am so sick of going to the polls and having people working there that have no idea what's going on, can't hear, have to have the person next to them do their job for them. You are right about the required training. It's long overdue.

And we all know how well THAT goes down! Ohio made itself a national embarrassment in 2004, and Brunner decided to fight back and clean up the messes. That has NOT gone down well. She wants verifiable ballots. Oh, my!
Part of the problem is that as she has demanded accountability and competency at county BOE's she has come under fire from every direction. The mighty Akron Beacon Journal has been irate that Brunner has wanted changes because according to the Beacon, there WERE no problems in 2004. It was all a bunch of "conspiracy theories." Perhaps the fine Beacon staff should travel the country and hear what residents of other states SAY about Ohio, like "oh, I'm sorry you live there," or "oh, that's too bad."

of its former self. The only good thing left is Giffel's and he recently announced that he's leaving.

Most newspapers are suffering "the death of 1,000 cuts" these days. But it seems as if the ABJ has taken a heavier beating than most.

7. She's practically Holy... |
|
as far as I'm concerned. After the shoddy handling of the elections under Blackwell (spits on ground) she is a refreshing breeze coming in across the Florida Keys.
Have I mentioned that I really like her?

9. I know Jenny just a little and she is loved by those who matter and |
|
those that have been cheating, scamming, and lying are "all up in arms" about her partisan agenda.
Jennifer is living up to what she promised in 2006; Fair, open, and honest elections in 2008.
part of an e mail from her in Sept.
Hi xxxx,
Diebold finally did admit it was their software (errors in coding) and sent out a nationwide advisory. My lawsuit against Diebold still stands, and we'll keep pursuing it.
We are fairly certain we'll be doing public service announcements about choices people have in this election, i.e. Backup paper ballots, voting by mail or in person. Working on them now.
Thanks again.
Jennifer
