Hensarling TX-5 having a bad day
Dylan Ratigan called him out and then Jim had the poor judgment to go on Hardball where Chris Matthews penned him down to a tasty, delicious soundbyte- "Hensalring supports cutting social security benefits in order to balance the budget."

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2010/jan/29/jeb-hensarling/rep-hensarling-says-annual-deficits-under-republic/

Going to love seeing this turd voted out.

1. Hensarling - "YOU LIE"
Hey that's like Joe Wilson's level of anger! Except this time I'm yelling the truth calling Jebbie/Jimmy Hensarling is a big fat liar. :P

Not even a half truth rating - his whole statement was a lie.

In summary, Hensarling's numbers only work if you cherry-pick the highest month under full Democratic control and compare it to one of the lowest years under full Republican control. If you compare average months (about $112 billion a month for Obama and the Democratic Congress) to average years under Bush (about $412 billion a year if you include his full 8-year term, or about $260 billion a year if you only include the first six years with a Republican Congress), Hensarling's numbers are wrong. There are so many bookkeeping tricks in this one that he's far from the truth. .. his claim False.

Cherry picking, misleading, bookkeeping tricks - why am I not surprised were talking about a republican?

3. It really isn't his day - he's front and center on TPM
Talking Points Memo 2/1/10
Rep. Hensarling Advocates Cutting Benefits And Privatizing Social Security
In the name of deficit reduction, House Republicans are going back to the Social Security well, offering budget proposals similar to those President George W. Bush proposed after his 2004 re-election that would privatize Social Security accounts and reduce cost of living adjustments.

Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) appeared on Hardball tonight and advocated balancing the budget by privatizing Social Security and cutting benefits for those now under 55.

With video! Stupid idiot - he's taking on seniors! :grr:

I hope the seniors in his district turn out and vote him out. He's threatening to cut off their social security. There's one thing you can count on - our senior citizens vote!

6. He won't lose.
I don't live in his district, but I'm close to it. His Democratic challenger doesn't have a prayer.

7. Hey lets not knock Tom Berry
At least he had the courage to take Jebbie/Jimmie on.

I just said I "hoped". And I'll keep hoping. Anything can happen between now and November. How about the Libertarian in the race Ken Ashby? Is he a teabagger?

By the way welcome to the Texas DU forum ParkieDem! :hi:

District 5

* Berry, Tom (D)
* Hensarling, Jeb (R) *
* Ashby, Ken (L)

12. Thanks!
I still don't think Hensarling has any chance of losing this race. He's too well-funded, and even if Berry could mobilize the rural voters in the district, eastern Dallas county and western Kaufman county (read: super-red suburban and exurban voters) still make up something like 75% of the population. Plus, I don't think you're going to get those rural voters to pull the Democratic lever.

I'm not trying to be fatalistic, just realistic. I'd be surprised to see any congressional seats in Texas change hands this year.

10. great show of enthusiasm
I live in district 5 and if Tom Berry comes out of Dallas and portrays Jimbo Jeb as a city slicker that's out of touch with the rural base he could easily kick Jeb's butt. You want to mobilize the rural counties in district 5 talk loud and often about Dallas' attempts to steal our water. Tom has to make it personal and put it in terms my fellow country bumpkins can understand. When it comes to water rights the farmers and ranchers in district 5 will sail Jeb all the way down the Neches to the Gulf of Mexico.

8. Daily Show clip from last night 2/1/10
Best takeouts of the GOP slap down focusing on Hensalring's cherry picking the facts.
About 1.18 into the clip.

Jebbie I'm not going to let you finish...

Q & O Episode #15017 Fox News cuts away from President Obama's lunch with the GOP because it's against the narrative that they present. (07:13)
Daily Show

Like Obama is seeing "their talking points in real time". :rofl:

Fox News - "We're going to cut away because this goes against the narrative we produce. 'Cut the feed!'"
