Attention all Virginians: Re: George Allen

I came across this interesting article written by Allen's sister Jennifer back in 2000. It's mostly about their football coach father but has some interesting insights into what it was like growing up in that family and also a picture of The Allen family in front of their Palos Verdes, CA home back in 1969 - just about the time he was vandalizing Palos Verdes high school with racist graffiti.

I'm also a grad of PV High, Class of '70 and I've read with interest your account of George's "prank" where he spraypainted the racist graffiti on the walls of our school. You were very accurate, both about Palos Verdes in general and the incident specifically. In one of your blogs you mentioned talking to a "Virginia reporter" who indicated that Allen laughed it off as a "boyhood prank". I suspect the reporter got to you through me based on a lead by a fellow classmate who now lives in San Pedro. I'm unable to find the original article that mentioned the "boyhood prank", but I'm pretty sure I know who the writer was and roughly when you were called. If you can confirm either or both facts I can track it down as part of a lengthy story being done by a reporter. It doesn't show up in the newspaper's online archieves for some reason and I can't find my copy of it. You can reach me here or through our fellow classmate.
