What makes this most interesting is that I've never seen this kind of Democratic fervor before regarding sign destruction. While I don't advocate that and respect anyone's views, I thought this was an interesting development. Republicans, as usual have also been guilty of stealing signs, but the one in this article was the most conspicuous Republican sign I've seen.
<snip>
Prince William County police have received in the last week and a half fewer than two dozen reports of stolen Bush-Cheney signs.
<snip>
A large Bush-Cheney banner was stolen from the northwest corner of the intersection of Minnieville Road and the Prince William Parkway.
The banner, purchased by, specially printed and shipped to O.P. Ditch, a local Republican Committee member, was on a wooden frame resting on what local GOP members refer to as "Republican Hill." The land is owned by a committee member and is reserved exclusively for pro-GOP messages.
<snip>
Ditch said he has never seen theft and destruction on this year's scale. He attributed the partisan atmosphere to Michael Moore's anti-Bush film, "Fahrenheit 9/11."
