Washington 's statewide domestic partnership law is at risk and we need your help to save it. A ballot measure attempting to repeal the domestic partnership law is on the November 3 general election ballot. We have 6 weeks before ballots are sent to voters. We need your help to reach voters all across the state to ensure they vote to Approve Referendum 71.

Be a part of the organizing strategy in your community and learn about specific opportunities to help. Join your community to help us save the domestic partnership law.

2. Nice summary
http://www.washblog.com/story/2009/12/3/181852/003

I have a similar view of the Referendum 71 vote. The common refrain is that ten Puget Sound counties "decided for the state", the population-dense King County in particular. It is true that voters in these counties played an important roll in approving R-71, but they didn't come anywhere near swinging the vote on their own.

Referendum 71 was approved by a margin of 112,980 votes. Yes, there were 29 counties that rejected R-71 overall. But those counties still produced 302,106 votes to approve. That's over 2.5 times the margin of victory. In other words, if equality voters in the so-called "reject" counties had recycled their ballots rather than vote, R-71 would have been rejected handily.

3. Be gone I say
Eekstern Washington says the same old line every time things don't go the way of their dying Protestant Triumphalist agenda -- Blame Seattle. Blame Wetside.

If they are tired of Western Washington, IMO they are welcome to go it alone. I for one would welcome the elimination of the West-To-East tax flow. (They don't even appreciate or recognize it!)

Split The State!

(Bye bye Eastern WA, Call La Paz County, AZ if you need any advice.)
