1. Or more accurately, with his hands around the guy's neck.
(and are all public employees really hippies?)

3. He looks unwashed
Another public employee who doesn't know how to use the shower or deodorant, apparently.

(My older relative, who attended most of the rallies, was both amused and offended by the accusation that she smells bad.)

4. Why is this here?
This cartoon is saying that those of us against the bill are hyper sensitive and over reacting. It isn't saying we are all dirty - I think the long hair symbolizes the largeness of the unions and that he's only cutting "a little bit off" that won't amount to anything, since his hair will still be long. This cartoon says we are over-reacting and we are not.

5. At times we all need laugh ... a chuckle
Edited on Wed Jun-29-11 10:10 AM by Yon_Yonson
When I first saw this cartoon it made me chuckle and it was for no other reason than that it was posted. I am a non union protested who supports unions and I’ve been in Madison protesting since the first snowfall. I see a no caring, unshaven Herr Walker attempting to cut the union’s powers with a tiny pair of scissors implying to me that it is not going to work. The gentleman in the chair can’t see the smallness of the cutters and is probably thinking he has a straight razor.

I am sorry if this is offensive but it was not present onto DU except I found it humorous and I thought a laughter would do us all some good.

9. I don't like the sentiments expressed in the cartoon.
I think it is pro-Walker.

It looks like Scottie only wants to take a little bit, and the public employees are overreacting.

Maybe you don't see it that way, but it looks right wing to me.

10. I agree
The loss of Collective Barging will hurt in the long run. Not to mention the strict annual union re-certification votes in the bill. It will be very difficult to maintain those and the unions will then be forced to dissolve. Think a time delayed guillotine towards the unions.
