I'm reading "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen right now. |

Has anyone else read this marvelous novel? It takes place in a traveling circus during the 1930's. I love this book...great, memorable characters, nice story, just great writing.
Read it if you get a chance. :-)

2. Unique -- not like anything else out there |

I enjoyed it a lot. I think it has wide appeal: among those who read a lot, and those who read only a book or two a year.

I knew the basic story of the book but had no idea how much it would grab and hold me. I read it in one sitting--enjoying every page. Passed it on to my adult son who enjoyed it as much. (I've been reading so much about oppressed women lately--Iraq, Iran, etc. that it was a very nice change for me.)

I've read it and LOVED it. And Sara is a wonderful person -- she totally deserves her NYT bestseller status! She'll have more books out in the future -- keep an eye out. And I think WFE was her third book, so check out her first two as well.
