J. K. Rowling Outs Hogwarts Faculty Member

NEW YORK (AP) - Harry Potter fans, the rumors are true: Albus Dumbledore, master wizard and Headmaster of Hogwarts, is gay. J.K. Rowling, author of the mega-selling fantasy series that ended last summer, outed the beloved character Friday night while appearing before a full house at Carnegie Hall.

After reading briefly from the final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," she took questions from audience members.

She was asked by one young fan whether Dumbledore finds "true love."
"Dumbledore is gay," the author responded to gasps and applause.

1. Just another reason for the right wing religious nut jobs to complain about HP!

2. If she had any guts,
she would have put it in the books.

Can't hurt sales, you know.

3. I just thought that uber wizards like Dumbledore were
on such a totally different plane and didn't experience emotions in the same manner as muggles or less seasoned wizards. But it doesn't change anything about the character of Dumbledore or the HP books, except in the minds of readers.

4. exactly
I always imagined the teachers as being A-sexual. They had the magic but no "in-an-out" since it's just FANTASY! No sex should or Would be interjected

5. Asexual?
What?

In 'Goblet of Fire', I remember a very serious relationship between 'Care of Magical Creatures' teacher Rubeas Hagrid and Schoolmistress Madam Maxine. I the movie Hagrid even visibly 'cops a feely' during their dance!

Romance abounds everywhere. :nopity:
