"The Memory Keeper's Daughter" |
|
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 02:38 AM by CaliforniaPeggy
I've just started reading this one, and even though I've only read three chapters, I am enthralled!
It's a first novel by Kim Edwards...
I highly recommend it...
Edit to add: Have any of you read it? If so, your comments!

|
And the defective daughter...
I am really captured by this one!
Sorry about all your stress...

If you've started it, I'm surprised you haven't finished it. It was one of 'those' books for me.

12. I hated it. But I saw the "Lifetime" movie adaptation first.... |
|
It sucked mightily.
Maybe I would have enjoyed the book if the movie had sucked less.

8. I have just today finished reading this... |
|
And I have to say that I loved it.
The last 1/3 of the book, I just had to finish in one long stretch...
It is a very densely written, hugely colorful narrative!
It went places I had never imagined, and really took me out of myself...
It stretched my mind and soul as I had not expected...
There are several main characters, and the story weaves back and forth between them.
Very satisfying!
It is not an entirely happy story, but it is much like 'real life' in that way...
I was correct in my OP...highest recommendation!

9. I finished it a couple of days ago |
|
and I loved it. I was afraid it would be depressing but it really wasn't. I found it uplifting in that it shows that very few things in life are completely irreversible.
