New James Lee Burke book on Horizon
I emailed Jim and told him I needed more Robicheaux now. He's publishing "Pegasus Descending" in July. Its another in a long line of Robicheaux books. Ole Robi-chocks and clete are getting old.

1. I think I've read just about everything of Burke's.
Nice to find some other Burke nuts around.

I especially liked some of his earlier stuff.

I read his daughter's first book but bogged down in the 2d one.

I've reread some of his earlier books. Alafair may have fallen a little too far from the tree. Nice works but not as good as Daddy. I guess Robicheaux will be like Mick Jagger and the Battery Rabbit, he just keeps going and going.

3. I've been anticipating his next one, after Katrina. Should be good.
Though I've kind of gone off Burke in recent years--something about the dialogue, how his characters keep talking past one another makes me impatient--I thought of him after Katrina and wondered what his take would be. And how it would affect Dave et al. I'll look forward to his writing on this one. Thanks for the heads-up.

4. Strange
We were effected by Katrina and amidst the cleanup and lack of power and all the other traumatic nonsense, I was thinking how is Burke and Robicheaux gonna handle this.

Check out: http://www.jamesleeburke.com/

Burke chats about katrina in not a pleasant manner on his website.
