The small veil that separates church/state is getting pretty damn thin, and thinning every day. The churches to voice their connerns, the churhes do tell you how to vote, the church does influence a lot of people. Its sad. I was raised mormon, one of the last times i went to church I heard our bishop, get up and talk to the congregration about same sex marriage, and how it was a sin, and this and that. I sat there, knowing without a shadow of doubt in me, that this guy was full of Bs. But, i looked around the congregation and everyone seemed to be in agreement. Later that day, my mother and I got into it over same sex marriage. Needless to say, she didn't want to argue about, and I gave up, becasue she had no real answers, except, its a sin, it says in the bible that its a sin.
I don't remember any passage in the bible that says"Gay marriage is banned, vote against it". Does anyone? what happened today, is sad, and good at the same time. From what i have read about the courthouse in texas, the 10 commandments was there, for historic purposes, what historic purpose, i don't know, you would think everyone would know what the ten commandments are, and if they don't i'm sure any church would oblige them with a bible to read them. But, whatever, these people are forcing it onto others, and when people disagree with them, they act like its their duty to god, to force religion, down our collective throat.
I'm not against religion, persay, or church. I'm against having it throw, forced at me everywhere i go, i swear, the military recruiters have nothing on the missionary attitude of our collective religous groups.
