The original post was locked down because the moderator decided it was flamebait, and I think the mod made the right call.
So, how does it gratify you to post a link to the now-dead thread with yet another inflammatory reference to "hysterical feminists" in your post?
Or am I not getting it?

The Mod locked it down after I had already posted this. Please be aware of such things before you go attacking others.
On Edit: I was also arguing AGAINST the post. Why would I post this in the women's issue room if I supported it.

6. I didn't get it and I apologize. |

Just so you understand where I'm coming from, I offer the following as defense:
I hadn't noticed this was posted in the women's issue room, as I linked to it from the "Latest" page. It's quite easy to hit a link without looking at which particular room the post is residing in.
It wasn't clear to me that you were arguing against the post, but I did see that it was a possibility. That's why I closed with acknowledging that perhaps I didn't get it. The object of your anger was unclear.
I wasn't trying to attack you in particular; I was trying to defend all of us angry women.
And regarding your advice that I should be aware of when a particular thread is locked down compared to when another post linking to that thread is created, I'll take that under consideration.
Have a nice day.

7. Describing women activists as |

hysterical feminists is wrong. Too often lefties allow feminism to be degraded.

A describing B as a hysterical feminist, my immediate response is that B is probably a perfectly reasonable feminist, and A is probably a sexist idiot.
There are quite a lot of people/causes to whom the term can be fairly applied, I think, but I think that in general they are dismissed out of hand, and it's the sensible ones who actualy get insulted.

I thought the email itself was pretty tame. The "disclaimer" was what pissed me off.
Then again some people just seem to be shit-stirrers around here. I wish more would voluntarily leave after being called on their bullshit.

idiotic disclaimer it wouldn't have attracted much attention. I get so tired of boorish, immature male attempts at humor at our expense. When working at the VA Hpspital in Columbia, SC I saw a t-shirt in the santeen store that said, "I suffer from PWS..putting up with women's stupidity." I had had a bad day anyway and that just set me off. I called the EEO office about it, saying is this what we want VA visitors and patients to think the VA condones? It was removed from the racks the next day, but the (male) canteen manager had a case of the hips at me from that point on. Some days you just can't take any more.
edit: spelling, I got mad all over again thinking about that little episode

a few months before the election. I had many on my ignore list. I hope that doesn't start up again.
I never know whether to reply to posts like that. Clearly that guy was just look to stir up shit, so why give him the satisfaction of a reply. On the other hand, being stereotyped as hysterical sucks, especially here on a supposedly liberal website.
What is a good reply to 'hysterical feminist'? Raving misogynist? Seething misanthrope?
