1. I've been making loans through Kiva for a couple of years now.

My experience with Kiva has been very positive. I've made a total of 16 loans to date. All have been repaid in full except for 3 recent ones that are still active. The organization got a big boost when it received the recommendations of Bill Clinton and Oprah Winfrey.

3. One of my nephews works with an organization in Peru-one of his main

jobs is getting micro loans for people there who have or are starting a small business. Sometimes only a few dollars can mean success and help a family rise above poverty. And there is a LOT of real poverty in South America.
He loves it.
