Turtle Island Foods rocks... |
|
We had a package of their deli slices that went moldy in the refrigerator. As we normally do we contacted the company to let them know. They wrote back and offered us some coupons for free products. We thanked them but told them it wasn't necessary as the mail was just meant to inform, not complain.
Today I got another mail from them asking if we received our coupons because they were running behind due to maternity leave and didn't want us to think they had forgotten.
If our website ever takes off I hope that we will be able to show as much concern and consideration as they have.

1. Did it go moldy unopened? |
|
If so, there might have been a pinprick in the packaging to let the spores in. But, it's always great to find such a company as them. I think I suggested something to Yves brand one time and they were very pleasant to contact as well.
By the way, if you haven't tried it yet, you ought to get their coconut milk "So Delicious" because, well, it is! :D

It went moldy unopened. The package seemed vacuum packed, but you might be right about a pinprick.
And I love shredded coconut, but was never wild about the milk. Of course I was a kid back then and my tastes have changed significantly so it might be worth a shot.

3. Turtle Mountain has 'processed' the milk somehow |
|
so it tastes more like milk, just not exactly. Still plenty of coconut flavor and it works well for making a sauce (at least when I used it that way the other night.) You could probably make a nice curry sauce with it, too :)
