I know this has been discussed before: power supply for PowerBook G4 |
|
they are the worst-designed pieces of crap this side of the iBook battery and they cost $80 to replace.
Who makes alternatives?

2. the small wire and lightweight plug are achilles heels |
|
I've had four of them (PowerBooks), still have two.
Three power supplies stopped working due to broken wires.
Regradless of one's opinion of the design (which sucks LOL), how can one replace it with a third-party device that doesn't cost as much as the damned computer?

4. I'm on my third in 4 years |
|
(yeah, I know, time to upgrade, but I love my Powerbook).
I bought the first replacement on Ebay after the wire going into the brick broke. That one had a plug that almost but didn't quite fit and the cover came off. I'm now on the third and being careful. The lightweight wire is never completely unwound from the stowage reel to protect the wire where it goes into the case.
