http://family.msn.com/tool/article.aspx?dept=baby&sdept=bpc&name=bc_041105_usbirths>1=6434The rates for women between 35-40 having children is the highest it's ever been. Unfortunately, cesareans have increased as well.

1. Well, I had a c-section at 35. |

Even though I'd had multiple pelvic fractures the year before, my doctor was going to let me try natural childbirth, but Garrison was also breech...so I think we did the right thing.

Cesarians definitely have their place....I am suspect of "golfing engagement" c-sections, though. You know, when doctors perform them so they can get out of the hospital in time for their golf game (or whatever). But there's definitely a time and a place for them. In the end, what matters is a happy, healthy child and mom.
One of the things I did when I was scouting out a hospital birthing suite was research the cesarian rate for the hospital. I can't remember but I think it's supposed to be good if it's under 25%. Wish I could remember the stat.
