...some good ebook software which is free? I have been hunting around but keep finding that most software is free until you want to sell your published ebook. Unfortunately I am not in a position to pay for that unless the book sells. LOL

If you're familiar with HTML and want to publish in PDF format, you might want to look at HTMLDOC. Commercial version: http://www.easysw.com/htmldoc/GNU GPL version: http://www.htmldoc.org/

Not sure on the format yet. It is a joint project, but we both know HTML extremely well. :)

from HTML to Palm .pdb format. It is part of the txt2pdbdoc package, from http://homepage.mac.com/pauljlucas/software/txt2pdbdoc/Unix/Linux/BSD only I think (unless you have cygwin or something similar on Windows).
