What I've learned lately
1) Statins are so dangerous that life spans are much shorter than they were before them

2) There is no such thing as a person addicted to pain killers and denying them to anyone, or trying to help without narcotics makes you mean, cruel and a bad liberal. Because you know, no ones ever hurt anyone or anything trying to get a fix with powerful prescribed drugs and no one EVER lies about that sort of thing.

3) The end of the space shuttle program means lower taxes and more money in all our pockets because it was a colossal waste of money that never did or accomplished anything. Plus NASA has a large bloated budget,, bigger than any other agency!
Idiocracy--not just a movie....:banghead:

1. There's something you left out.
1) ...and if you disagree or even question the veracity of this, you're a paid shill for big pharma.

2. I don't bother reasoning with number 2.

Most of those people are chronic pain sufferers themselves and lash out like that because they think they are being accused of being druggies.

4. Yes, I think that some people have good reason to be sensitive on the subject
There are people who are serious addicts or drug seekers; but my experience with my mother's severe chronic pain (fortunately alleviated by surgery) makes me aware that there are also people who depend on pain medication because of their level of *pain*, not because they like the drugs. And are terrified of being deprived of their pain relief.

I suppose it depends to some extent on the person's existing medical records. If they just come along and demand a strong pain medication, and there's nothing much in their records, one may suspect drug seeking; but if there's a long history of their trying less powerful medications first, then it's much more likely to be genuine.

5. Until November 2009 I suffered from chronic pain...
and I was always under medicating myself to the dismay of my pain specialist MD. When I had finally had shoulder replacement surgery and finally got of the meds and it was such a relief, no need for opioid pain medications and no chronic pain. Severe chronic pain can do nasty things to people's attitudes toward life.

3. and
(4) Big Pharma profits enormously from letting people die, because of course dead people are SUCH a big consumer market for pharmaceuticals.

(5) The statement 'Environmental factors contribute to disorder X' is synonymous with 'Vaccinations cause disorder X'. Because of course the environment consists ONLY of vaccinations!

6. Whoa! Statins reduce cholesterol, a perfectly natural substance.
Natural is always better than "chemicals." Isn't a natural condition like tuberculosis better than antibiotic chemicals?
