Oh boy! A new psychic!

Well, only new to me, so don't get too excited. She's been stinking up cable since 2006, according to a quick Google.

I was channel-surfing last weekend and came across some twit walking thru Santa Monica, asking people if she could "give them a reading."

Lisa Williams. British, but apparently now living in L.A.

Review of her act from a less-than-convinced reporter:

It seemed the dead were as filled with cliché platitudes as the living. They even plug books.

One poltergeist suggested, through Williams, that a participant pick up a copy of Brian Weiss's book on past lives, "Many Masters, Many Lives." After three readings, Williams picked up the names Peter and Paul, and then she sensed a racing accident, then a boating accident, and then a drowning.

IOW, cold reading at its worst.

Link to Williams' page, with messages she has received from Beyond and is passing along to anyone with a relative named "insert name here."

Complete with the usual funeral-parlor music that EVERY damn psychic seems to use on their websites. I think they're even worse than the Fundie Xians that way. It's hard to concentrate on text or graphics when you're hearing the 4,729th verse of "Amazing Grace." Especially when sung by The Tragically Untalented Children's Choir of the East Jebus Full-Gospel Church. (Are their Half-Gospel Churches?)

1. It is still amazing that people fall for this shit.
"I'm getting an A... a B.... a C.... a D..."

"Yes, D! His name was David!"

"Ah yes, that was just coming into focus! And he died unexpectedly?"

"No, he died surrounded by family as he struggled with lung cancer."

"Of course, that's what he's trying to tell me - the unexpected part was for HIM, how he didn't expect to be taken so suddenly from his family."

"Oh my goodness, you are such a great psychic!"
