MAME, of all things, has me wanting an upgrade. |
|
I build and maintain my own systems. I used to build and maintain for family members, too. We had a nice, but temperamental, LAN to play games on for a few years, but I've had to move on.
Someone introduced me to MAME and now I'm totally addicted to video games again. The Mortal Kombat games play slowly on my system, so I have to do without sound for 2 and 3. Bummer.
I just overclocked my 1 GHz T-Bird to 1.13. I don't know if it will help or crash my system. :D The chip is already "pencil-tricked" into thinking it has a 133 FSB. That shouldn't matter because the 100 and 133 chips were identical. The only difference was the FSB setting, which I changed using graphite a couple of years ago.
Also...if there are any MAME-iacs here...is there a way I can get Mortal Kombat to recognize three keys at once? I can't do Sub-Zero's slide. I've tried turning off sticky keys and turning on "steadykey"...whatever that is. No go.
Any help would be nice. :D
Yeah, yeah, yeah...shame on me for playing violent video games. I could snap at any minute.

However, I don't know the answer about recognizing three keys at once.
But you can get a cheap 6 button gamepad for like ten to twenty dollars.

i knew someone who had a mame system and bought one of the arcade replica controllers that he had hooked up to it so you could do all the fighting games with it, pretty cool.
