the soul of a game console? |
in playing console games for years, i think that a decent console has alot to do with the care in selecting the proper components and controller layout, the playstations, and nintendo's up to 64 seem to me to have a better "feel" to them than the x-box, wich is nothing more than a collection of top-shelf components, and not really measured out to accent eachother, and the bulky, akward controller design makes my thumbs sore

1. A good controller design to begin |
I hate uncomfortable controllers with the Dreamcast's controller at the top of the list. The N64 had the best design with the Dual Shock of th PS2 a close second IMHO. Durability is also important to a nice console.

was for the NES, you get pissed, throw it at a wall, and it takes out a chunk of your wall, i agree with you on the N64 controller as most comfortable, i had a mad cats one with rubber padding

3. What I've always been confused about... |
...is why all 3rd party controllers for a system are modeled on the standard controller for that system. I mean wouldn't it be great to have a PSesque controller for the X-box or vice-verca? I can't believe that there's not a market for them...
