I'm having a problem getting back in gear after the holidays...
Anyone have any advice? I can't seem to get back in the swing.

4. Maybe you all can take a field trip
Watch some educational videos or do some fun projects just to get back into the swing of things. We were pretty slow this week also, because I've been sick as a dog, so we've concentrated on learning about germs (seriously). We're beginning a study on civil rights and so I let them watch videos on the subject. I always insist that they do their math and language arts work and most of that they can do independently after brief instruction.

Glad to hear that you are slowly gathering steam. Good luck in the weeks ahead.

3. We just started back today
Timmy was very upset about it, but I promised him that I'd take him to the movies tomorrow after school, if he'd do what he needed to do without fussing.

Fortunately, today's lesson was really short, and included a science experiment, which he always enjoys.
