Anyone else a bit disturbed by the Edwards "hugging " Obama picture today? |
|
I wanted to puke, honestly.

Actually it doesn't bother me that much. The body language in the photo shows that neither was very enthusiastic about hugging. John was probably just trying to be nice and Obama was probably trying to pander to us. They might have been trying to exhibit some kind of party unity, or at least a lack of animosity within the party.
I don't find it nearly as disturbing as that awful photo of John McCain all sweaty hugging W. I think that photo shows us that a deal was made. McCain sold his soul to Bush in return for the nom this year.

3. Not sure I saw the same photo |
|
The one I saw was taken from the air and could have been a "hello" or "goodbye" thing, like the hugs David Letterman gives his guests. If it's not, and it means something more, then that's just one more disappointment and disillusionment for me. Damnit, there has got to be 'something' left to believe in. I hope and pray it's still JE.

5. You mean the paparazzi style photo taken outside John's home? |
|
It didn't bother me much because I personally think John is a huggy kind of guy. I've seen him hug a lot of people along the campaign trail. I just hope that John won't endorse this plagiarist and phony. Hell, Obama even lifted parts of John's speeches and statements into his own speeches before too.

6. Both of the phonies lifted John's words and ideas. |
|
Sometimes the day after he used them.
When I saw it happening a lot, and working, in early January, I had a sick feeling we might be doomed because people sucked it up without batting an eye. They didn't even know, or care, that it was John's words and ideas.
This election has turned into a feeding frenzy; the sharks are feeding off of the carcass of John's campaign (the parts they can use that "sound good") and the minions of little-shark-supporters are eating up the debris left from the wake.
I'm disgusted. If I took it all personally I would be truly SICK to my stomach!
I'd like to have just a taste of what John and Elizabeth feel about all of this.

It was the two pat, one arm, man hug. I do it all the time, and half the time, I couldn't tell you the last name of the guy I was hugging.
It means nothing to me when I do it, and I'm sure it meant nothing to Edwards or Obama.

8. Yeah, the hugging part didn't bother me at all either. |
|
I like to see John hugging people. And I can think of worse people for him to hug.
Now if Gore would have hugged shrubby at their White House meeting recently I think I might have puked.

10. I don't care for Obama either, |

but it was just a hug. Why should there be a lot read in to it?
At least I didn't have to hug the O.

But I certainly hope John kept his hand on his wallet. Obama is really good at stealing things from John.

14. LOL! Looked like a pretty awkward, distant hug from the photo I saw. |
|
Maybe it's hard to keep a hand on the wallet while hugging!
