Happy Turkey Day Family ...

I'm wishing all of you a great and safe day with family and friends.

Me? It was just my wife and 15 year old daughter ... scrabble (the little girl whooped us bad three straight games), monoply (my wife is the real estate Queen) and Dominos (They payed off like slot machines, I counted off 15s and 20s and putting them on their backs), then movies (the new Tyler Perry Play/Movie, "Madea's Happy Family".

Life is good with family around! I almost didn't miss the football games.

We expats gathered for our annual celebration tonight. 5 Amis, 9 Germans, 2 Brits, 2 Irish, Barbados and Ethiopia both represented. Great food, great friends, lotsa beer, schnapps and laughs. There's no place like home.

There are some Americans where I am but they are all like 60 years older than I am. (And considering that I am no spring chicken my damn self, that's really rather amazing.)

My husband surprised me with a Thanksgiving dinner. Yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, he tells me "well we won't have to worry what we're having for dinner tonight because we're having Thanksgiving dinner" to which I responded blankly, "we are?" "Yes we are," he said. :)

He cooked the whole she-bang. Turkey breast done on the Webber barbie, mashed potatoes, green beans, fried corn and gravy. And it was DAMN good too. :9
