Son is deploying to Afghanistan - need reliable and accurate news sources |
|
In preparation for my son's deployment to Afghanistan I have been googling like crazy trying to find good, reliable war news sources (ie, not propaganda from either side), and I haven't been able to find much yet. I have been amazed at how little war news is reported on in this country. My son suggested the BBC, and I have read some of the Guardian that looked ok. Do you all know of some good sources? Thanks in advance...

the stars and stripes, and any other military news sources? the country is so disconnected from its wars at this point. it's just wrong. Best to your son that he gets through healthy and whole in every respect.

Please give him my thanks for his service.
BBC is usually quite good and fairly reliable when it comes to war news. I also highly recommend Al Jazeera.
Because war is what it is, I resent corporate television`s sanitized version. The men and women we have sent to Afghanistan and elsewhere have made tremendous sacrifices as have their families. That`s why Americans should be forced to hear (and see) the truth.

Hopefully he won't be there too long and he and the rest can come home soon.

9. Get in touch with the families of your son's unit |
|
They will have their own network that will be following news of the unit closely.
Wishing your son a good tour...
