Any other John Crowley fans here? |

"Little, Big" is quite possibly my favorite fantasy novel ever. I'm also really fond of "Aegypt" and "Daemonomania." I love the way he creates these really layered worlds where enlightenment is always just around the corner -- but you never quite get there -- do you? ;)

1. I've liked the bits that I've read of his work enough |

to track down "Aegypt". Man, is that an expensive out-of-print book or what? I waited until I could find it at a reasonable price and scooped it up for half the original cover price. I haven't read it yet as my "To read" pile is about as high as my nose.
He's got a new book coming out next year that's not in the Aegypt cycle. It's called "Lord Byron's Book" or something close to that.

Coming to this SUPERLATE, but I just found this group for some reason.
One of my favorite writers. Ever. "Little, Big" owns my heart, but the Aegypt series (the three books so far) are amazing in a slower, vaster, way.
Have you read "The Translator"? (His "political" novel, I guess). Still magical, but much more subtly. It's very beautiful and eerie.
