infrared
just got a new camera. this one has the infrared filter over the sensor removed and instead a filter that only allow infrared is installed.
this is just a neighborhood picture.
The first one is straight from the camera,no editing. the second one has the red and blue channels swapped and then I edited it in photoshop elements using smart fix and auto contrast and color correction

2. That's neat.
There's a good process in Photoshop to make pictures look infrared but it involves several steps. This is neat to be able to it right when shooting.

3. infrared photos
what i did was bought a camera off ebay for $200. its a panasonic lumix.
an ordinary digital camera is quite capable of takign infrared shots but the manufactorer puts a filter over the sensor to block IR. the place i bought the camera from removes the factory installed filter and replaces it with a filter that only allows IR. in my case it blocks everything from 720nm on down (all the visible spectrum). the camera also has a custom white balance or else it would try to color correct everything and you end up with badly tinted photos. I havent had any success with flash photos yet,i have to adjust the flash WB and havent figured out how to do it so the results are good. right now any flash shot i take comes out red.
