Do you think Chaffee will switch?
From what I am reading, it may be advantageous to him. Isn't his voting record almost completely Dem? He didn't support Bush in 2004, he will deal with a primary challenger and an actual Democrat who is popular. He may have a problem if he stays (R) especially in Rhode Island.

1. No.
Rhode Island politics are incredibly corrupt. That's the problem.

6. For crying out loud! Isn't there a God damn state in this country which
isn't corrupt? If all politics is local, it means that government is corrupt because local people allow it to be corrupt.

Don't know if he will or not --
-- but it would be fine with me if he did.

There's a lot to like about this guy.

3. No, sadly
But he really should, as he has very little in common with the current incarnation of the R party.

I wish Jim Jeffords would have a CTJ meeting with him, Collins and Snowe.

4. Chaffee isn't going anywhere in any form.
He will continue to have success the way he is.

7. No way
He promised his now deceased father he wouldn't switch. Better to defeat him in the general if the Rethugs don't beat him in the primary.

Heck so many right wingers hate him that they may vote for the Dem anyways since the Senate is no longer 50/50
