NO "Blue Dog" is serving her or his constituents by fighting to water down the healthcare plan |
|
There is massive support across the country, even in the rural South, for real healthcare reform including a public option.
There is no Democratic congressman or congresswoman anywhere who's constituents are demanding "more of the same".

2. The constituents in the Blue Dog areas are some who need health care the most. |
|
But the Blue Dogs are serving the "plantation owners" and the "mill owners" instead of the majority of their constituents who are the average workers and small businesses.

3. We need to call the Blue Dogs by their proper name, |
|
indicating their true place in the Southern political scheme of things: The New Bourbon Democrats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourbon_Democrat

5. That is colorful, but the other one really points out what the 'Dogs are about |
|
They are fighting to keep things unequal and ugly. That's all the conservative wing of this party has ever been about.

6. Problem is, I like Bourbon. |
|
Hate to inflict the image of this cabal of ugly critters on one of my favorite standbys.
Medicinal uses only, of course.

7. It's "BourBON" as in the reactionary French royal family |
|

not the Kentucky sippin' whiskey. Pronounced with the accent on the second syllable, like the last name of the former Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher.
Does THAT help?

It makes no sense except for the fear of re-election.

9. Well, yeah, obviously candidates need to be recruited |
|
In fact, somebody should probably create a Southern-based(and yes, I know not ALL Blue Dogs are Southern, but most are)group dedicated to recruiting left-populist candidates that could win in those districts.
