Good night Nurse, Keith's been pulled from the Repug convention coverage |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 02:34 PM by BerryBush
Allegedly to stay in New York and anchor Gustav coverage. David Gregory will now cover the convention with Tweety.
Or so news reports are saying. How conveeenient.
Oh well. At least this way I don't have to watch their convention. Unless he shows up later.
(ed to fix misunderstanding; at first it sounded like they were saying he and Gregory would anchor in NY, but Gregory is actually replacing him)

1. Not surprised over this. Doesn't sound like |

there is going to be much of a convention to cover. Between the Republicans in close races avoiding it, then the idiot and his dick, hell even McSame is trying to avoid being there and using every excuse he can find. Why have all your major personalities covering a none event? St. Paul seems to be arresting anyone left there that might of spent any money.
Maybe there will be time for Countdown to air in its normal time slot with its normal lineup.

2. It depends on what Gustav does. |
|
MSNBC hasn't made any plans as to exactly what kind of coverage it will run tonight, but it looks as if they're likely to have Keith as breaking news anchor with constant Gustav updates with perhaps intermittent breaks to see what's happening with the Repugs. In any case, as convenient as it may be, what it means is that MSNBC considers Keith their main anchor and the guy they need in NY to pull whatever news they do this evening together.

Hanna. I feel for the people down there. It is expensive to evacuate and some houses are being damaged. They did not need this again and so soon.

It's a complete mess and I feel for them. The only good thing is that * and his minions seem to have realized they cannot afford another Katrina-like clusterfuck so they have been doing everything they can to stay on top of it or at least look as if they are. The situation appears much better organized and the evacuation plans much better executed. Of course, you never know what you'll get with a storm and if it goes in a different direction from what you expected it can be especially disastrous. But right now * and his gang, including the local Repigs, are terrified of looking the least bit as if they screwed anything up. That's good news for those likely to suffer the most. It's too bad the whole thing won't just go away, but the second-best thing is for it to not be as bad as it might have been and for the response to be swift and efficient so that the pain is minimized for everyone.
Of course, if that happens, expect a lot of back-patting and heckuva-job self-congratulation amongst that bunch. Oh well, it beats the alternative.

5. Gregory took KO's place right after Tweety and KO's on air dustup. |
|
Scarborough is probably mad at KO as well. No great loss AND familiar territory for KO. Football season can't arrive soon enough.

If Keith loses his place on convention coverage, it's a huge blow for him. But that being said, I'm not sure that's what happened here. We will have to see what's done with Keith after the storm dies.
