Anyone from OA around?

I am new here, not to 12 step recovery?..Stuart is my name.

1. I've considered trying it.

But I'm hesitant - I've heard that some groups here are more diet groups, they're very restrictive on what you can eat, members have to cut out all sugar and flour, etc. That's not really what I'm looking for - and not relly what I thought OA was about. I have to do more research and see if I can find any that are more traditional.

2. I attended briefly

Many of the members had other kinds of eating issues like bulima and anorexia. I couldn't relate to many of the members so after a few tries I stopped going. I think the trick is to find a group that is a good fit for you.

Honestly, I wasn't ready to go that hard core. They work for people who can go full bore. I alas am not one of them.
