Thrifted a little this week - pic heavy
I was so happy to find Corelle Winter Holly dishes and bowls. We're donating our plastics. Thin Corelle is just the ticket for lightweight dishes that can also go into the dishwasher. Here's a picture I found on the web. I found 7 dinner dishes and 8 bowls. We're off to a good start.

And I picked up a ceramic Santa boot - the first in my little collection. When I get a few they'll look cute gathered together with candy canes inside.

I also found a single cotton sheet set with calico flowers that reminded me of old flower sack fabric in red, yellow and green. They'll be used for window curtains in the mudroom. Then I found an old plaid woolen blanket like the ones I remember on baby carriages in winter. I like to keep one in the car for chilly knees.

Last but not least was a watercolor picture someone painted as a Christmas gift in 1966. Since it was senior day I didn't pass it up at half price - 2 bucks. Here it is, it's just so silly and fun. It's sitting on top of this computer, cupboard desk.

Merry Christmas to all you frugals!

2. I do, too!
It makes me grin every time I notice it up there on the desk. The little bird is facing the viewer and looks like it's saying "Silly dog!".

I haven't found too many good scores at our limited thrifts in the little town.

it's good for clothes but no fun housewares at all

4. Maybe there will be some church or organization sales
They can be good, too. Not like our regular thrifts but you never know.

Yeah, that dog has given more smiles this week.

5. I went GoodWillin' yesterday
and I got four Boleslawiec hand made in Poland pottery bowls for .75 apiece! They are beautiful , and I would post a picture if I had the camera and the "know how"

I also got a Haviland china plate , with a small chip for a dollar It has scalloped edge with a strip of gold (kinda worn in places) and a circle of deep pink roses. In that condition it is probably just worth the dollar I gave for it , but It gives me pleasure and I love it.

I also found six Dansk bowls for.75 apiece --not my pattern , but compatible.

I will call my sister later and brag about my cool stuff.

6. Nice finds!
I found a wall mirror and a travel coffee pot at the Displaced Vets store. I spent under $3 for both.
