:eyes:

Why do you think anyone gives a shit about Bush's legacy or your suggestions to rescue it? Stick to rescuing prostitutes and meekly calling attention to Darfur and leave Bush's legacy to entropy and downward momentum.

Op-Ed Columnist
Ten Suggestions for Rescuing the Bush Legacy

By NICHOLAS D. KRISTOF
Published: December 31, 2006

Particularly after all the tributes to Gerald Ford in the last few days, President Bush may be pondering his own legacy and obituary. Sorry, Mr. Bush, but it doesn’t look good right now, with your obit perhaps beginning something like this:
Fred R. Conrad/The New York Times

“George W. Bush, who achieved tremendous acclaim for his handling of the 9/11 terror attacks but left office vilified and disgraced, mired in the Iraq war and stalemated at home, his hard-line partisan tactics souring the electorate and crippling his beloved Republican Party for a generation, died. ...”

But Mr. Bush, your plight isn’t hopeless. In the holiday spirit, let me offer you 10 suggestions for what you can do in 2007 to try to rescue your legacy....

<There follows a bunch of suggestions Bush won't pay any attention to. Doubtful anyone else will either.>

1. Tremendous acclaim for handling of 911 - that's your problem right there

Love your editorializing, BTW!

3. Is this written as satire?
His handling of the 9-11 attacks. Ok, sitting frozen in a classroom, and holding "My Pet Goat" upside down. Getting on AF1 and scampering all over the country, no doubt paralyzed with fear for his own worthless hide, and not showing up for so long that even the obedient press felt obliged to mention, albeit timidly, that perhaps it would be nice for the president to make a statement, or do SOMETHING.

Well, as a lowly citizen, I could have done the same things, but like to think that I would have had the intelligence to take charge of the situation without having to be tranquilized and prepped to talk to the country.

4. And the white house falsely claimed
that one of Al Qaeda's targets was Air Force One and therefore it was necessary for bush to spend the day criss-crossing the country, to avoid attack. :eyes: So they were playing politics ON 9/11. The spin never stops for them.

5. Not only is it not a worthy cause, IMHO it's an impossible cause.
How could this ever be fixed?
