I think Hillary goofed in this fight with Obama. Obama seems to be winning AND it gives him
a chance to show he can fight AND he's right on the question (meet with bad guys). He's showing Hillary to be Bush light....

I'm liking him more and more.

1. I agree that he's winning...
and I think it was a stupid move on Hil's part, but then, she's been consistently unimpressive, IMO.

2. But don't you realize the race is already over...???
Hillary is going to be the nominee, so we need to unite behind her, right now!!! Doing otherwise is only going to help the Republicans!

:sarcasm:

3. I think she has been impressive, at least in the debates. But she stepped on this one. IMHO
Dean was the front runner. All it took was the scream. I've got my fingers crossed for a scream (although I think Bill might be able to smooth over a few rough spots.)

She just looks like a bitch here and when she said the argument had gotten "silly" it occurred to me that's what the lose says. Like the first one to call the other side Hitler.

I was worried when Obama said she was Bush lite (not really, but implied). But it didn't back fire.

He's my best hope. But I'll support her if she's the nominee.

7. Huh?
How did she come off as a "bitch?" A presidential candidate says they do not want the POTUS being used for propoganda purposes, and so before they conduct a high-level meeting with certain countries, they will send an envoy first, in order to learn the purpose and the way forward.

And for those views, that candidate is coming off as a "bitch?"

And you say you were worried about Obama's comments regarding Hillary being Bush-lite, and worrying they would backfire on him, but they haven't yet. He just made those comments today, correct?

Geez people.

4. I'm a little biased
Since I already like Obama. But Hillary started this, and I like that he was swift back to her.

I agree, he's winning this round.

5. The only difference between a bloody thirsty tyrant and and a "stauch ally"

The only difference between a bloodthirsty dictator and a "staunch ally" is their willingness to kiss Washington's ass. Saddam Hussein and Manuel Noriega USED to be STAUNCH ALLIES. Their activities were no different before and after their fallout with the US. But after they got independent minded, they became "ruthless dictators".

BTW, whatever happened to talking about the leadership of China as an oppressive regime? They still are. But it just so happens that most of the CEOs in the country are making a killing off China by selling out US workers and replacing them with Chinese sweatshop workers.

6. No, Obama is the one that erred
He showed himself to be inexperienced in foreign policy, and just plain wet behind the ears.

He's not ready for prime time, and even John Edwards (whom I was disgusted by after hearing his snide remark about Hillary's jacket), agreed with Hillary on this.

8. Obama's people have been misquoting Hill on this one..
She never said she wouldn't talk to anybody, as in engaging in diplomacy. She just said it was a bit naive to make promises about getting said dictators to the table in the first year, face to face. It's about as realistic as Bush Sr's No New Taxes pledge.

Obama shouldn't make promises he probably can't keep. Hillary is for talking to those guys, she just is realistic about how difficult it will be to get the other guys to cooperate.

... EDIT: All in all, the American public being how it is, it's probably better politics in the long run for Clinton's foreign policy to be *too* belligerent rather than not belligerent *enough*.

13. Actually, I Think Obama's Response Was Quite Weak And Exposed His Inexperience, Whereas
Hillary's response was quite good and confident.

Though Obama's fighting back now, which is good, the origins of the fight still stand out clearly.

25. Yes, Get Over It.
It appears to this objective viewer that you dislike Hillary and have clouded judgment due to that, so it hurts you to have to accept that she did great the other night and on the question in particular, she gave a great off the cuff answer without any hesitation. That doesn't make her the be all end all, but there's no reason to have to feel so bitter about it either. She's done really well in the debates and Obama was only Ok the other night. Big deal? But since you seem to unwilling to give Hillary her due credit, as if it would hurt you somehow to accept it, I say get over it.

who is an avid HRC supporter. I dare not speak ill of Hil in her presence, but we saw the YouTube debate together and both agreed that her response was a hedge.

20. I think the republicans won this one. Neither one of them seem smart enough
to recognize that the media has reframed this into a huge Dem debacle. The media in the beginning did not report Hillary's comments and position accuratel or completely...cherry picking like Iraq intel...Obama fell for the bait and now it is on. Two very intelligent, popular, and good candidates are wasting their time and money dancing to the neocon media fiddler.
