Stick a fork in Karl Rove, he's done.
I saw nothing on his Sunday talk show tour that was new, some new revelation or epiphany. There was nothing for the right wing to rally around, for example some sweeping talking point that was going to start a "Republican surge". I sense a lot of people on the right expected a lot more from their so called hero.

I saw absolutely nothing from him that was even troubling moving forward for us, because all his talking points have lost their power, they just don't stick anymore.

I did see Cooper contradict him.

From Think Progress:

"Appearing on Meet The Press today, Matthew Cooper, one of the reporters to whom Rove spoke about Plame, said Rove’s version of the story was hard to believe. “I think he was dissembling to put it charitably,” said Cooper. “To imply that he didn’t know about , or that he heard it in some rumor out in the hallways, is nonsense.”

Cooper also contradicted Rove’s characterization of their conversation, describing the “essence” of it as much more than just an attempt to wave him off the story:

Look, Karl Rove told me about Valerie Plame’s identity on July 11, 2003. I called him because Ambassador Wilson was in the news that week. I didn’t know Ambassador Wilson even had a wife until I talked to Karl Rove and he said that she worked at the agency and she worked on WMD."

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/08/19/marcy-debunks-rove-and-gregory-over-plame/

And he thinks Hillary has high negative. Wow, he dove head first into 2005 with that one. We've been saying that for years. Oh and bash Joe Wilson?....WHo would have thunk that?

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/08/19/karl-rove-spins-his-way-out-of-town-on-meet-the-press/

I saw someone who was not the "genius" at all, his so-called genius was he was willing to go lower than anyone before him. What would one call that....morally bankrupt? The end justified the means, and now Bush has been in the cellar for years because of those means. I would call that shallow minded, stubborn stupidity.

The next election is not going to be won by dividing and conquering. We all live on that scorched earth and neither side enjoys it very much. Bush and his partisan hit squad of Senators, Congressmen and pundits all made their bed and are stuck sleeping in it.

I would call his Sunday morning tour a complete failure. There's nothing fresh, exciting or new for the righties to talk about tomorrow.

Goodbye Karl. The door hit you on your way out.

2. "It's funny how an insect can damage so much grain."
Rove has done his bit to punish mankind for his worthless existence. The guy is a nut. Watching him in the brief excerpt on C&L, all I could think is that this is a balding, pudgy, somewhat smarter and less inbred version of Tom DeLay.

No wonder Rove works so well with Damaged Dubya, the bad seed of Bar. The two can look in each other's eyes and laugh at the damage they have done, the Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold of world politics.

3. "Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold of world politics" - Amen!
You've captured their spirit and their relationship and stated it exactly right. May they both live long and miserable lives, knowing they're the most detested men on the planet, like Kaiser Wilhelm II and Herbert Hoover.

5. Here's the great thing...while he was with the Administration
we rarely saw him....when we did see him...he was at some Rethuglican fund raiser....I am betting you other than sites like ours many people have never seen what he looks like or what he sounds like...

But now folks...he's making the rounds and people are seeing him for the crackpot he really is....evertime....he makes a bold face lie...like the one about Cooper...his opponants are openly fighting back because he is not protected by the WH anymore...

people are seeing what he looks like...a little weasily pasty fat bastard..

He is going to continue to use his divide and destroy tactics...but you see he is not the genius he is reported to be....he is starting to get his lies mixed up and if any Congress people are smart they will be examining every public appearance he makes.....

Rove will put himself in jail.....

23. Rove and Karen Hughes WERE the face of the administration,
along with Cheney, in the early days. They were the people we most often saw on the Sunday talk shows. After about six months, I think they figured out that they weren't making the impact with the rest of the country that they did with the dim wit. Suddenly we had Condi and Colin, Andy and Rummy.

6. I always think of that line from To Have & Have Not: "Ever been stung by a dead bee?"
It's like the old alky Eddie was saying don't step on me because I have one more bite in me.

While I'm glad Rove's gone from the White House, I won't believe he's truly harmless until he's behind bars or in the ground.

I'm really, really sorry Turdblossom didn't leave the WH the way Joe Wilson envisioned -- being frog-marched down the steps in handcuffs.

Hekate

12. He left because he has to spend more time....with his defense lawyers.
Seriously, no way he leaves if he wasn't in serious trouble. He's got Congress coming at him from a 1/2 dozen different directions and they want his scalp.

13. Not Done, Until He's Jailed with a Long, Long Sentence.
It is dangerous to count Rove as "done" while he is still walking around free with his Blackberry in his hand. He will be playing a subterranean role as Bush's adviser and directing the Republicans' attacks on the Democrats until someone confiscates his Blackberry, and hopefully that will happen when he is jailed and serving a nice, long sentence.

15. And get it done BEFORE he gets hired by Haliburton to build their Dubai HQ!
You KNOW that something like that is the excuse he'll use to skip the country before he gets subpoenad of indicted. It would be the "Rovian" style of doing things!

14. I saw him on Meet the Press. What struck me the most was his demeanor.
Edited on Mon Aug-20-07 12:15 AM by wake.up.america
He never admits to failure, never says he is sorry, acts as if he so much smarter than everyone else, never takes into account what others say and looks at the world in a matter which suits his purposes.

That attitude intimidates many and that is the reason he gets away with so much. The moderator was intimated and thus not did attack Roves's ridiculous assertions,

Karl has it down very well.

17. I still wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him...
...with a burnt-out match.

Devious, singleminded, and don't think he has a anything even vaguely resembling a conscience. Still a dangerous guy...don't misunderestimate this one. He's still got teeth.

You can bet there will be vast amount of $$$ put forth for his Defense Fund when he is indicted after Abramoff lays out the Rove criminal actions.
