Jill, did you feel the earthquake this afternoon? |
|
I just now learned about it (on DU, of course - my primary information source) and I'm reading the "Did You Feel It?" comments on the LA Times site -- a couple of people from AZ said they felt it. One in Tucson, the other around 20 mi SW of Sedona. I had to look up where Chandler is, and you may have been too far East, but you ARE farther South, right? It was centered in Mexicali.
Jim said he was sitting at his computer and started feeling disoriented, then a little queasy, then realized what it was. He (and the people on the LA Times) said it was more rolling, not jolting. 7.2 He's all the way up in LA!
The last large one I felt here -- 6.9 -- was a rolling one, too, and it lasted almost a minute. Jim said this one lasted a long time, too. Wonder if there's a connection to the movement and the length of the shaking. Hmmm.
Anyway, one of the people in AZ said s/he figured a lot of people there had never felt a quake before, so I was wondering if you experienced it.
I'm thinking Pat was too far North -- ???

1. Yep, I'm too far north |
|
I first heard about it when my niece posted something about it on Facebook. Like everyone else, she said it was a "rolling sensation".
I was thinking about Jill as well. Someone said they felt it in Phoenix.

2. It was soooo weird. I didn't feel it but |
|
at that very moment I happened to go outside to have a cig and our pool was going crazy! It was sloshing around in every direction with large waves (for a pool). I went back in to tell Mark that something is seriously wrong with our pool filter, and before I could do that Melissa told me about the earthquake. Several of her friends live 3 miles south of us and they felt it.
Nah - there's no climate change.:eyes: Those scientists must all be crazy.
