ACORN still drives the right wing nuts while Nathan Sproul is their darling one |
|
Sproul is now saying that his firm hired some bad apples. I remember when ACORN said that and was told, "Talk to the hand". "Sproul blamed the alleged fraud on the actions of a few “bad apples,” workers who were hired to register Republican voters for $12 an hour and then tried to “cheat the system,” according to NBC." http://arizonadailyindependent.com/2012/09/28/sproul-under-investigation-for-voter-fraud/

1. The young woman in that supermarket video did not appear to be a "bad apple." |

She appeared to be a perfectly nice, (though misguided) young woman who was conscientiously trying to do exactly what she had been told to do, up to and including saying she worked for the office of the county clerk.
I never saw a video of an ACORN worker approaching people to register them by first asking them which candidate they favored.
The people ACORN hired did things like make up names and addresses of people they had "registered" so that the ACORN employee could knock off work early or maybe even fill out all their paperwork from home, instead of braving the elements.
And the imaginary people they had supposedly registered to vote, most famously perhaps, Mickey Mouse, never showed up to the polls trying to vote.
ACORN employees screwed ACORN, as the employer, not any particular candidate or political party. I don't believe ACORN ever trained its employees to screw ACORN by not actually doing what ACORN was paying them to do.
If you are on the up and up, and only were unlucky as to whom you hired in quite a few states, your "bad apples" would not all be favoring only one Party, no matter which state they got caught messing up in.
The real reasons ACORN drove the right nuts was that ACORN was getting taxpayer money and that ACORN was registering people who lived in poorer neighborhoods and the perception/myth is that people who live in poorer neighborhoods vote Democratic, if they vote at all, especially poorer neighborhoods in blue states.
